Honeymoon Part 2: New Zealand
They call it the land of the big white cloud...I guess that's because it rains a fair bit...
No worries, we drove in the rain and hiked in the sun - the weather shined down on the most spectacular scenery on the planet - some call it middle earth - whatever...it's amazing! I love the Aussies but really love kiwi-land...(All the kiwi's I've met are alright as well). We started with a look around Christ Church, picked up a rental and drove to the Adventure-Sports World Capital of Queenstown. From there we began our trek on the Routeburn Track (one of the best walks on the planet - look it up!). The hut infrastructure was excellent - we just brought sleeping bags and food - the rest was there for us.
We finished off the trip with a stopover on the North Island to visit Olga and Paul in Rotorua - great hospitality, great mountain biking and a first ever white-water kayak trip which began with a 9 foot drop in (that's the beginner-route down under...or so I'm told(!)). Many thanks to Paul and Olga for helping make part II of our Honeymoon a true adventure!
